Monte Carlo simulator

Your own trade results, resampled and reshuffled thousands of times, to show how much of the outcome was the strategy and how much the luck of the draw.

Result

No result yet

Paste at least 10 trade results; 30 or more gives a steadier answer.

The results are only as good as the list. Under 30 trades the range is very wide; 100 or more says much more. Resampling assumes the future looks like the past, which markets do not promise. Nothing you paste leaves your browser.

This tool uses no exchange rates. Everything is calculated in your browser; nothing you enter is sent anywhere.

How it is calculated

A single track record is one path out of many that the same strategy could have taken. The simulator builds the others in two ways.

resampling: draw the same number of trades from your list, with repeatsshuffling: the same trades in a random order

Resampling asks what a different mix of your wins and losses would have made: the share of resamples that lose money is a rough check on whether the edge is real. Shuffling keeps the net result and changes only the order, which shows how deep the drawdown could have been with the same trades.

Paste results after costs, in money. The more trades, the more the answer means: 30 is a floor, 100 or more much better.

Risk. These tools do arithmetic on the figures you enter. They are not advice, and unless a field asks for them they leave out spreads, commission, financing and slippage. Past results do not predict future ones. Trading leveraged currency products carries a high risk of loss. Read our financial disclaimer.
